Alpha Shox - Better than Limb Savers?
Hi Guys;
I am wondering if Alpha Shox seem to work better than any of the various other Limb Saver products for split limbs. I just put "Frankenstein 2" together with a new riser and the split limbs. Thanks. |

I have them on my bow and while I can't tell you that they perform better I would be surprised if they didn't since there is more surface contact area compared to regular limbdsaver. Also they aren't likely to ever come off unless you really want them off.

I don't know if they actually work better but they are a better product.Easier to work with and last longer.

I like them. I thought they would cost much more than they do. I like them.

Gained speed by switching out limb savers to alpha shocks??
Is that a split limb only situation, or could solid limbs see an increase as well? |
RE: Alpha Shox - Better than Limb Savers?
Dave; I think they only make them for split limbs. I saw an ad for them that says they are designed for the Hoyt "patented" 3/4 " gap between the limbs. I did measure the gap on my split limbs, and it is between 3/4 and 13/16", so I should be able to use them. I'll probably pick some up tomorrow. Thanks to all who responded.:)

Yah, i'm pretty sure you can't use them with solid limbs

They are an excellent product and the best limb dampers I've ever used. The perfect solution for split limbs bows! They do work better than the traditional LS's.

Oops, my bad. I had them confused with Thunderbloxs.
Alpha shox, thundershox.....sounds the same to me;) |
RE: Alpha Shox - Better than Limb Savers?
Thanks to all. I did get them today, and they seem to work pretty well. The nature of that bow with the first riser (Golden Eagle) was that it made just a little noise, vibe, and recoil without any help. Each accessory only seemed to help just a little. With the new riser (Diamond Archery carbon riser) it seems pretty much the same. Noise level is not much different bare bow to fully equipped. The recoil of the very light, but powerful bow is cut by the Alpha Shox, NV system, and stabilizer combo. The other two bows I have show a distinct difference when I use the stabilizer or leave it off. This one sounds and feels almost the same, just recoils less. Pretty neat little bow, just have to get it tuned and shooting better.;)

Finally figured out how to downsize, so here's what it looks like.
