I shortened my release

Had my new bow tuned at the archery shop. The draw length felt about an inch too long for me, but they didn't have the correct module in stock to shorten it. Then the guy pointed out to me that my release was an inch longer than every other release in the store.

So, being mechanically inclined, I went home and shortened mine. I have the Cobra, dual caliper release that is NOT a swivel model. (the head swivels on the rod, but the rod does NOT swivel on the wrist strap) So, I took the lock nut off, pulled the rubber hose off the bolt and cut one inch off the rubber hose, then cut an inch off of the bolt. I used a propane torch to heat and bend the end of the bolt again. Reassembled the release, and "Wah-la" new shorter release, and it feels great!!

Excellent, I have done the same to a Scott caliper also. I switched to a Scott Little Bitty Goose to have the adjustability of the rope between the wrist strap and the head.

I did the same thing with my HHA release, but I also combined the HHA release mechanism with a TRU Ball wrist strap. The HHA release was far too long and the wrist strap was uncomfortable. Problem solved! Now my release is perfect.:D

Feels good to fix the problem yourself and for free,...eh?:)
