Defender speed
Can anyone give me an educated guess of the speed on my new Defender?
I'm shooting 7595 GT's at 26.75" and 393.2 grains. The bow is 73# and 29" DL with the hush kit, string loop and a true peep. I'm shooting with a Scott LB goose release. I can't think of anything else that might be beeded for the calculation. I won't have a chance to chrono it for a while. Thanks |
RE: Defender speed
around 290 maybe

RE: Defender speed
Shot the chrono last night for a big dissappointment.[:@]
274, 275, 276.[:'(] This seems slow to me. The bow has the stock hush kit, a served in True Peep, and a string loop, the usual items. You have to put the arrow length into the chrono on the front, so I put in the length from the nock groove to the insert, should I have put in the total overall length? What would this change? Do you think the chrono is not reading correctly? I was hoping for at least the mid 280's. |
RE: Defender speed
I'd try another chrono that isn't so nosey.. When shooting bullets through a chrono, length is not needed. The chrono will measure the first thing that casts a shadow over the screens.

RE: Defender speed
My 69/29 Allegiance did 282 fps with a 391.4 grain arrow. I'd bet you will be in the 290's.

RE: Defender speed
I am surprised that you guys are getting those speeds. I got 293fps out of my patriot with a 29" draw and 71lbs with a 386 grain arrow, and I thought my bow was supposed to be slower? Maybe it is just difference in Chrono's.
