Noisy Gold tips

After many hours of reading this forum, i decided to set aside my carbon Impact fat Shafts and try some Gold Tips. 5575 XTs. So far they seem to group well, however they seem louder across the rest than my Carbon Impacts. They are definately more difficult to pull from the target. Supposedly the Carbon Impacts have some type of coating to make them quieter. Has anyone else experienced this?[&:]

The Beman ICS Hunters I shoot now have a much smoother finish than the old Gold Tip Hunters I used to shoot. With just a bare metal prong rest, I did think that they were noisier during the draw than the Bemans.

With good rest silencers like teflon tubing, there shouldn't be much noise from any brand or type of arrow.

Good luck.

Some people take "food grade" silicon(i believe) and wipe down the gold tip shafts to seal them. When I first started shooting them I used a high grade furniture polish. I used Scotts liquid gold on mine. I just had to leave mine outside for a while to get rid of smell. since I have went to the camo GT and don't even worry about it anymore

I've never noticed it but I shoot the advantage timber shafts that have the camo finnish. I also shoot a dz so there is no noise on release. I've never noticed an arrow/rest noise while drawing though.

Thanks for the info. I am shooting camo shafts and a drop away rest NAP4000. The noise is during the draw. I may try the silicone suggestion.

It actually may be the mat'l on the 4000 arms. I had a 2000 on my bow for a couple does last fall and I wrapped the prongs in moleskin to make it silent.

you may want to give that a try!!! It is a very silent death....
