Pre-loading BowTech B-Cam bows?
Does anyone know if the new B-cam bows can be pre-loaded for a bit higher draw weight? We used to twist up the cables on our old High Country's to make an 80# bow go to 90# or better.
I am comfortable shooting around 74#, but without picking through every bow at the factory, most are going to max out at 70 point something pounds. Can the string and cables be twisted to get the extra 4-5# without screwing up the tunability and shootablity of the bow? |

I would venture to say no. Bowtech specifically states to not put more than 3 full twists in the strings and cables on the Equalizer cam bows.

As I'm sure you know, the E cams are draw length specific. Twisting cables will lengthen the draw. You can't fix it with a module swap, if needed. You also need to be very careful about twisting string and cables on these bows. The let off will be affected, and you may achieve 100% let off by accident. Not good. If you want high draw weight, the Allegiance is available up to 100 lb.

I totally agree with Muzzy and Phil.
You could order a heavy 70 that should get you about 74/75. The only other way I have heard of is by putting in the taller rockers but I would advise you to contact BT first. |
