anchor point location

I was at a sportsman show this weekend and a bow hunting seminar said you anchor point should be infront of the ear and the string should be infront of the face. Right now my anchor point is on the bone behind my ear. It seems a bet long but what do you think? Also where do you anchor your point?

With a release aid, my knuckle on fore-finger of release hand is behind my ear lobe, but the string is in front of my ear and eye.

String touching nose, nock in the corner of my mouth and knuckles touching the bend in my jaw.

It depends somewhat on the ATA of the bow, too. I have always been a drawlength guru, as I see most people drawing WAY too long. Here's my rule of thumb. Nose on the string, string across the front of the lips just slightly off center. No kisser button. If I did have one I would use it as a KISSER button, not dragging it back to the corner of my mouth. It's called a kisser button for a reason. I keep my release as short as possible so as not to stretch out too far. The knuckle of my fist does not come back to my earlobe. Stretching out too far tends to make accuracy irratic with groups opening up in a left/right pattern. Also makes holding steady on target almost nonexistent.

You've kinda answered your own question about your own length. If you think it's too long then it is. And like 80% of the shooters I'd be willing to bet it's at least two inches. I'm not referring to "correct drawlength". There is no such thing. There is only optimum drawlength for you and then there is every other drawlength. You have to constantly play with it till you find the best for you. And I mean how well you holdsteady and reach the best accuracy. Nothing else matters.

I shoot fingers.
1 above, 2 below.
With a compound, the ring finger comes off at full draw.

Index finger anchors in corner of mouth.
It's worked for 25 years.

As it is now, my fletchings actually touch the corner of my mouth yet I still get the string to touch my nose. Go figure that one. should the corner of my mouth be touching the srting just above or below the nock if I used a kisser?
