BOW FORM QUESTION?
 

THIS IS GOING TO BE HARD TO EXPLAIN BUT HEAR GOES. I HAVE A PIECE OF ROPE (I DONT KNOW THE TECHNIQUAL NAME) THAT GOES AROUND MY GRIP THAT I PUT MY HAND THREW WHEN I SHOOT. WHEN YOU GUYS SHOOT YOUR BOW, WHEN YOU RELEASE YOUR ARROW DO YOU LET THAT ROPE AND ONLY THAT ROPE CATCH YOUR BOW OR DO YOU GRAB YOUR HANDLE TO SO EXTENT AFTER YOU SHOOT? WHAT IS THE CORRECT FORM? I'M TRYING TO MAKE SURE IM NOT TORQUEING MY BOW WHEN I SHOOT. I NORMALLY KEEP MY KNUCKLES AT A 45 DEGREE ANGLE FROM MY GRIP AND I LET THE BOW REST IN THE PART OF MY PALM BETWEEN MY THUMB AND INDEX FINGER. I DO NOT GRIP MY HANDLE BEFORE I SHOOT, I LET IT REST IN THAT AREA OF MY HAND, BUT I DIDNT KNOW IF AFTER YOU SHOT IF YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO LET YOUR ROPE ACTUALLY "CATCH" YOUR BOW OR NOT. SORRY TO BE SO LONGWINDED. THANKS FOR ANY INPUT.

The rope is called a wrist sling;)

I just let the bow roll forward after the shot.

This sounds like you are getting too much of your hand into the grip which can induce torque.

It might be better if you can post a picture of your bow hand while you are at full draw.
That way we can comment on it a little better.

AUSIE, THAT WAS ALSO ANOTHER PROBLEM IM HAVING. WHEN I SHOOT MY BOW IT DOESNT "ROLL FORWARD". THE TOP ACTUALLY KICKS BACK. I HAVE A EITHER 6 OR 7 INCH BOWTECH STABILIZER ON IT. DOES THAT SOUND LIKE A PROBLEM WITH MY FORM OR THE STABLILZER ISN'T HEAVY ENOUGH?

It sounds to me that you are not heavy enough on the front. I like to balance mine so the bow lurches straight foward on the shot. I use a finger sling as I feel that I have more control shooting with a loose grip. It is all a matter of preference but I would definatly try to get the bow so that it doesn't kick back on top.

You are describing an high open grip , or at least it sounds like one , and you can toqure a bow with an open grip, allthough you would think you could not .

Trying to catch your bow after the shot sounds like poor follow through , sounds like you need to ballence out your bow .
