Which Rocket Mechanicals
 

I made my mind up to purchase Rocket broadheads but don't know which ones yet. I am going with the 100 grain head. Which ones have all of you had the best luck with?????????

It depends on what your goals are, and what your setup is. I really don't have enough information to give you any kind of proper answer. What is your setup, and what is your main goal, penetration or max amount of cut?

My setup is a Patriot with a Trophy Taker Shakey rest, Pat is set at 70lbs with a 29" draw. Arrows 28 1/2 " ACC 3-49's with 100 grain tips. I am in the process of purchasing a Stealth stabilizer for it, maybe 2 because I think I am going to need a rear mounted stabilizer for it. Not that it matters for this but the sight is the Cosmic sight by Impact. As far as what is my main goal, I am not worried about penetration, it should not be an issue. I was looking at either the Rocket Steelhead or the Sidewinder.

Greenbay, while I don't knwo your exact arrow speed and wieght, I can guess that your KE is plenty high, you could probably shoot just about any head out there. I think The sidewinder would be the head for you. It cuts a much large hole than the steel heads. The steelheads are much more durable, and penetrate better, but you don't need help with penetration. the side winders are a pretty good head, with great accuracy, and fast opening blades. It's rockets most practical mechanical for those wanting a larger head.

With that much bang behind it I would opt for the Hammerhead with it's devastating 2&quot; cut. You're going thru any critter you shoot into so you might as well go for a monster exit wound. I don't think you're going to kill the too dead<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

I like the sidewinder, 100. I switch to them last year with great results.
All i can say is BIG HOLES!!!!!

I am a big fan of the Steelheads...and the new Naildrivers as well, but considering the KE you are probably generating I would take advantage of the Hammerheads. They are 100 grains and have a full 2 inch cutting diameter. I plan on using them myself for the first time this season.

I like the Steelheads, or the meteorites from Rocket.

The thing I like better about the Steelheads & Meteorites (besides durability) compred to other Rocket heads is that they are short like a field point and do not affect FOC like the longer models can and will do on occasion.
