Q2XL, Q2, or SQ2

I am going to buy one of these three bows. I shoot a 30in draw at 70lbs with a release. I will be using it for hunting, 3D, and leauge shooting. I have been leaning toward the Q2XL, but would like to here some opinions and reasons why.

I bought a Q2 about to months ago and I really like it. the Q2XL might be be a little better for 3D but the Q2 is a good all around bow. good luck.

I got a Q2 in December and love it. Like it has been said - it's the best for hunting & 3D combo.

Personally I would go with the Q2XL. 38" isnt too long for hunting. Just think, about 5 years ago a 38 inch bow was considered about average.

There really isn't any law saying you need to shoot a 32" bow, the shortest, just because its hunting. My first compound was supposed to be 52", but in the end it went out of production, and I got a 48". Now yoiu have to have a bow 16" shorter just because it is hunting? The only bad thing I have heard about the SQ2 is the velocity, which the Archery world reported as low. I don't know about the relative merits of the Q2, and Q2XL. I have a C2, but it is a little heavy, though again that is against the backdrop of our current crop of light bows.

My advice would be to figure out which use is the most demanding, and the most important to you. In other words if the way you hunt demands a really short bow, and hunting is what counts to you, great. If your 3D is the most important, and you figure you could use a C2 hunting, go that way. That said, Tom Crowe has a good year shooting a Q2 3D, so who knows. Here are his stats:

Competition Equipment:
Bow (Make & Model): Mathews/Q-2 Draw Length:30" Weight: 70#
Arrow (Make/Model/Size/Length): Easton/Tru-Flight/2613/27"
Arrow Rest (Make& Model): Golden Key/Premier FT Special
Release (Make & Model): Tru-Ball
Stabilizer (Make & Model): Specialty Archery Products/Super Lite 36"
Sight Bar (Make & Model): Sure-Loc/Lite Shorty w/long extention
Aperture-Scope or Pins (Make & Model): Secialty Archery Products super D Scope w/6x lens
Other: PDP Arrow Points 110Gr. for ASA Competition / 210Gr. for Indoor / 60Gr. for IBO

I just bought a Q2 last week and love to shoot it. No complaints so far...

I really depends on what's most important to you. My bother just got the SQ2. We both do some 3D and some league shooting, but hunting is what it's all about for us and the SQ2 is the most maneuverable and has the longest brace height. I think these are important features for hunting, especially treestand hunting in cold weather.
