Problems with PSE Firestorm Lite

I have a right handed PSE firestorm lite. I put the Muzzy zero-effect on it.

The problem:

When I paper tune it, the arrow ends up about 1/4 inch from the riser. I'm even getting fletching contact. I thought the arrow should be roughly in the middle of the shelf. Mine ends up so far to the right, that I can't even put a sight on.

I've also contacted PSE, haven't heard back from them yet. Went to three different bo shops in my area. Each one removed and re-instgalled the rest and the knock, same results at all three.

Any ideas?

What spine arrows are you shooting? Whats the draw length and weight?

RE: Problems with PSE Firestorm Lite

I'm not an expert. I am using what the guy at the shop sold me. I'll try to answer as best I can:

70# draw weight
Easton A/C/C Series DR (3-60/340)
The Arrow is 27.25 inches long. Not including the knock or the field point. (Not sure how much the arrow weighs)
Guy at the shop says I use 100GR field points.
Plastic Vanes, 4 inches long where they contact the arrow. (3 vane)
Shooting with release.

Please let me know if I missed anything.

Paper tuning doesn't tell you if your arrow rest is center shot. It tells you your arrows spine. Moving the arrow rest can fix these tears, but it is the wrong way to go about your business. Move the arrow rest back to center shot. Then adjust the bow weight up or down. One should fix/help the tear(Most likely your arrows are weak, so decreasing weight will help the tear). This will tell you if your arrows are stiff or weak. If weak you can cut the arrows shorter, decrease point weight, or decrease draw weight. The opposite for stiff arrows. It sounds like your arrows could be way off, it that is the case you might have to buy new arrows

I think those are on the stiff side.

I think you need the 3-49's.

Good post ewolf. He took it to three different shops. I would think that they would have tried something similar to what you have advised. They would have been quick to suggest new arrows, wouldn't they. Seems like it's got to be something else. I think that if he puts a cheap rest on it and then finds the problem gone that it's the rest. A cheap way to start.
