ARROW WRAPS
I shoot CX 300's w/ blazer vanes, can wraps be added the my arrows w/o refletching? In other words can I cut strips and place them between the vane to get better visibility of the arrow flight. I have a hard time following the flight of the arrow or seeing the point of impact. Any suggestions?

RE: ARROW WRAPS
If you are interested in customizing your arrows enough to consider wraps, you'll probably want to fletch your own stuff too if you don't already. One thing to keep in mind about the wraps is that if you get a single screwed up feather or vane, you can't fix it without replacing the wrap and all fletching.
I'm giving up on the wraps even though I think they look great, since I shoot feathered arrows with fingers off a flipper rest (simple = good) and will therefore always get some fletch wear on my bottom hen. Periodic replacement is a small price to pay for shoooting the way I like to, but I don't want to have to redo the whole schmeer every time. |
RE: ARROW WRAPS
What is an easy way to get the wraps off?? It looks like it would be a pain. Also how much does the average wrap weigh?

RE: ARROW WRAPS
Don't know about stripping them off, but I believe they weigh in the neighborhood of 15-20 gr. each.

RE: ARROW WRAPS
You can buy strippers for just that purpose:D

RE: ARROW WRAPS
Most wraps weigh in the the range of 8-12 grains depending on the designs on them. My personal wraps that I make for myself weigh in at 10-11 grains. Just strip them off and refletch them. I have found that using a sharp knife to peel them off like a potatoe peeler is the best way just be very carefull with carbon shafts. Then just wipe the leftover adhesive off with some 90% alcohol.
