I'd say theyre not threaded all the way thru if you cant turn them in with pliers. I'v had this happen to me building arrows & I just ran a tap down the insert.

An #8-32 tap will work and cleanup the threads for ya and finish the cut if they are not complete.
Just forceing a tip trough with pliers will more likely damage what threads are there but sometimes you can get lucky.
So run down to the hardware store and get yourself one ,
it's a handy tool to have in your archery box.

I had this happen before and just heated a wire hanger with my torch and ran it down the insert a few times.:D

RE: glue in inserts

I've got this exact same problem. Ordered a dozen from an online store...I was able to screw in a field point in six arrows and the other six...forget about it! Tried several methods to try and get rid of the glue that was not cleaned up, but no dice. In hindsight, I should have ordered bare shafts and done everything myself.

Does anyone have a tip on getting the inserts out w/out hurting the arrow?

These are Gold Tips/Pro Hunter...thanks!
