FOC question. Please help
 

I may be getting to technical, if I am please tell me. I went on the bowjackson.com sight and calculated my FOC by measurement & it stated my FOC was 7.9%. Is this ok or not. Should I be tring for a higher FOC? On the other calculation table, I entered I wanted a FOC of 10% & it told me my (total point + my insert weight) should be 123grains to get an FOC of 10%. I am currently shooting Gold tip xt's 5575 & I'm shooting 100grain broadheads. Would it be worth it to shoot some 125 grain broadheads to see how they perform or is it a waist of time. What do you guys think. My setup is a Tomkat 70lbs, 27" DL. I'm hunting whitetails. Thanks for the input.

You might be OK at 8% but most people like to be between 10% and 15% for a hunting setup. If it's a target or 3D setup then you are fine. That being said, you could also improve your FOC by using feathers instead of vanes. Vanes weigh approximately 3 times as much as feathers. That's a lot of weight on the back of the arrow

I would shoot them and see how they fly and group, especially with broadheads. Target or field tips won't tell you a whole lot about the arrow flight.

Your fine with this setup. Using the 125 grain will increase the FOC and would help with penitration when hunting. If your comfortable with the 100 grain tips and the arrow are tuned will, keep what you have.

Im one whos not too concerned with foc , but you are pretty low .
That said Id shoot it and see how consistant it is .
