2005 Bowtech tomcat questions

Its about time to get a new bow and as much as i want the SwitchBack, i just dont have that kinda money. So today i went lookin for bows and i found the Tomcat package, I was about to shoot it but something came up so i had to leave, so i was wondering if anyone out there has ever shot this bow and if so, how was it because I might not get back to the shop for a week, any help would be nice.

RE: 2005 Bowtech tomcat questions

I bought one in October of 04'. My bow is a 2003. I'm a lefty though. I really like mine, but I'm a first time archer so its the only bow I have ever owned. The only problem I had was my fletchings kept hitting my rest. The store I bought it from could not fix the rest where my arrows would not hit the rest. Personally I think I knew just about as much as they did. So anyway I got a WB & it worked well, but I'm probably (Lord willing) gunna put on a drop away. It is a good shooting bow to me. I killed 2 deer with it this year, but then again its the only bow I've ever owned. Its not one of the blazing speed bows but for my income it fit me fine. Good Lord willing, after a few years of getting use to shooting I may buy a different one that has a higher IBO rating, but for now it suits me fine.

Thanks for the input, just curious...have you chronographed your bow and if you have what kinda speeds do you get out of it.

I did @ one time, but the guy who owned the chrono said he wasnt for sure if it was accurate but I think it was close, my setup is 70lbs, 27" DL, Goldtip XT's 5575 (28") & it chronoed @ 260 fps. Like I said the guy who owned it said he wasnt for sure if it was accurate, so that may be way off.

The TomKat is a redesigned bow for '05 and it's very much like a MightyMight. It's a very good value in a complete hunting package. You might also want to check out the new Diamond bows by BowTech at www.diamondarchery.com for a few other good value bows;)
