? for techies

I recently decided to try to get a young man I know into bowhunting and decided to give him my old bow so he could learn. My question is does anybody know how long the strings and cables are for a golden eagle carbinehawk. It's the 94 model I believe. Any help would be appreciated as the sticker has peeled off in many years of hunting. Thanks in advance.

You might just want to put the bow in a press and remove them and measure the length of each. I'd then order or make, if you make your own, string and cables about 1/2 inch shorter than the old ones to allow for stretch.

Exactly what WWAG said. Take them off and measure them.

On a bow of that age, the string may have stretched as much as 1 1/2" or more, if it isn't a newer string material. I would attempt to get ahold of the manufacturer. This info is written down somewhere. If the ata and brace height are real close to specs, and the draw weight pulls to what you expect, you can assume the string isn't too far off and taking measurements will probably work okay, but I'd still prefer to get the actual correct length for the bow.
