Draw lengths

Draw lengths on bows can be adjusted right? Usually a couple inches at least.

RE: Draw lengths

On a compound bow, it depends on the cam(s). Most are adjustable.
Some, like mine, can only adjust 1/2" either way for a total span of 1".
Others can do several inches.

Look at where the string's end connects to the cam.
If there is more than one peg for the string's loop to sit on, or more than one anchoring groove, then it's adjustable.
Others will use changable modules that alter the draw length.

Check in the manual for your bow, or call the manufacturer.
Have your bow handy when you call. They may have questions about your cam(s).
Sometimes a given bow can be sold with several different cams, or if it's used, the previous owner may have upgraded or replaced a damaged one with a different type.

If you are considering changing the draw length of your bow, know how to find what draw length is right for you.
You may not have to change it.

RE: Draw lengths

Bulzeye is right on the money. Many cams are adjustable and a few have little adjustment. Hoyt's cam and 1/2 can be adjusted 1 1/2" while the spiral cam has little adjustment. The spiral cam can be adjusted about 1/2" by twisting the string there are no length adjustments on the cam itself.
