What serving?

What serving do you guys use for general purpose stuff like tying in peeps, and use as a center serving?

Also, does anyone know if you can replace the metal cable on the NAP dropaways to a rope like the TT's and if so, what would be the best material to use?

Thanks

I use braided fastflight. Very durable and should it start to let go you can apply a touch of Fletchtite until you are able to replace it.

I use braided fastflight for center serving. Different diameters for sifferent strings. I don't serve my peeps in. Never had to----oh maybe because I don't have a rubber tube pulling on it. Never had a rubber tube either. Or a kisser button. Oh, I did start tying on a nockset and scrapped the brass ones.

For center servings I use either the .019" or .024" (depends on the amount of strands of the string and type of arrow nocks) BCY Halo Braid.
For peeps I use the BCY nock point tying thread .020".

You can also use loop rope to replace the cable on the drop away--it'll work!!!

Sure will. You may have to drill out the hole but it will work and work better. imo. This is how I set mine up. loop rope to downward cable. 3 does paid the price with this setup. Now I'm on to the DZ. NO problems with the QT 2000 w/ mods.:D

RE: What serving?

the size serving that I use varies according to the thickness of the string and the type of nock tht I'm using. I have noticed that a lot of people have too heavy of a serving on their string. The arrow nock should be loose enough that a sudden jolt on the string should knock it loose, or close to it. I have seen many nocks that are way too tight when attached to the string.

Both Brownell and BCY provide recommendations for their string and serving products.

You can get the information on their websites:
