Improperly pressed bow?

I've read about people who had there bows improperly pressed at proshops and it damaged them. How does this happen?

Some bows you have to back the limb bolts out. On parallel limb bows, many presses apply pressure too close to the riser, or too far from the limb tips. Some bows the riser will roll, but the limbs are held straight by the rollers. And some people just have a talent for ruining things. No matter what they do.

What precautions should be taken to make sure not to make these mistakes?

Make sure your pro shop is using up to date equipment. Most of the newer pararral style bows require a press with a hydrolic jack.

You can also buy a press from WWAG and do the repairs yourself. It works great on the pararrel style bows.

Does wwag have a picture of his press we can look at? Aim for the boiler room. Bhunter32.
