You DO NOT loose draw length! You only have to anchor different. If you shorten your draw when you get your loop, then your draw is too short now. Your string should just touch the end of your nose, and if it did before you had the loop, then you shorten your draw to ger your anchor back, your string is not touching your nose anymore.

I guess everyone does it differently, however I shoot better with a string loop if my draw length is shortened by 1/2" or so............if this means that I can stack arrows at any reasonable distance slightly shortened, as compared to not stacking arrows with the same draw length, I will shorten it every time.

IF you shoot better with you DL shortened when installing a string loop, your DL was probably too long to begin with. Also, most archers do not know how to properly attach a wrist release. Proper verses improper wrist release usage will change your anchor point and thus allow or disallow effective usage of loops.

There are wrist releases available that directly compensate for string loop usage. They can still be improperly used, but doing so is not as easy.

There seems to be a difference of opinion on the definition of DRAW LENGTH as it applies to a person. Of course its not in Websters Dictionary so here is how I would describe it. It is the position of both your arms at full draw that allows you to have proper form which obviously will allow you to shoot the best. It is a measurement of arm position. When you establish this measurement, it should be the same for every bow you shoot, loop or no loop. If you add a loop and don't shorten draw length, your draw arm will move back slightly and the position of your arms that was established above will change.

EXAMPLE: If you were buying a new bow with a string loop and you told the salesperson you have a 30'' draw length, he should set the bow at 29 1/2'' and the 1/2'' loop would make it 30''.

For me personally a 1/2'' difference, longer or shorter makes a world of difference in how the bow feels.

You just received a PROfessional opinion and, from how I read your post, you have trouble accepting it.

Draw length does have a definition. How it is applied to the various levels of fit/form is something that can't be absolutely defined. While we know what standards should be met, adopting those standards to the various physical assets and liabilities have to always be considered.

Shortening the draw length, to effectively pull the string away from 2 of the 3 effective anchors points to enable just one to be positive, is not, IMPO, a wise thing to do. Shortening/repositioning the release aid to maintain 3 possible anchor points should be the best approach.

I like a loop and if you use a release like the jim dandy you can shorten it up so you don't have to change anchor points

Well at least you recognized that crazed look in my eye's Terry ,this is how my wife know's Hunting season is not too far away .She keep's coming into the back yard when I'm supposed to be raking the lawn and finding me in the Oak tree looking up at the bushes for deer .LOL.

She know's at this point there's no sense trying to get me out of the tree to do work in the yard, unless she walk's around the yard bleeting like a doe LOL
