Smooth draw?

This is probably going to sound like a stupid question to some of ya'll, but pardon my ignorance I'm a newcomer to bowhunting. I've seen where alot of you guys comment on bows saying they have a "smooth" draw. I imagine you have to bow hunt for a while before you can tell if a bow draws smoothly or not. The reason I say this is because when I bought my Tomkat, I looked and pulled back several different kinds and they all seemed the same to me, except for those that had different draw weights of coarse. Anyway what does a "smooth" draw mean. Again sorry for my ignorance on the subject.

To me smooth draw means the bow comes back with a nice even feel to it. When I bought my new bow this year, I honestly didn't believe the thing was cranked up to where the guy claimed because it came back so easy. Not till I verified it on my bow scale at home, did I feel settled on the matter.

Ditto what rybo said. I don't care how smooth a bow draws, but thats just me. To some people it is very important.

savedbygrace, not a stupid question at all. I know just what you are talking about. Now if you really want an answer, try this. Go to a proshop, ask to pull back a recurve (or longbow), a long axle to axle eccentric cam bow, and them a short a to a single cam bow. Then you will feel the difference in draw cycles of bows from extreme to extreme, and something in the middle.
