My New Justice!
 

I was amazed at how quiet the Justice is! I'm shooting a 25" draw at 50#'s with a 390's grain arrow. Really liked the slim grip. The draw with a loop feels too long for me, but the guy I bought it from keeps assuring me that the fit is perfect. He tells me that all these years I have been anchoring too far forward. He wants me to bend my bow arm thus taking my anchor farther back behind my ear. Opinions on this? I'm not used to it so I am having trouble finding a repeatable anchor. I left the shop feeling pretty frustrated with how the bow fit, but my better half told me to have a little faith in my ability to work it out. The bow seems to have a solid back wall, which I have never had on my Nova. Overall I am happy, just need to get some minor kinks worked out. In case anyone is curious 25" @60.5#'s with a 300 gr. arrow is supposed to kick out 249 fps. My arrows are heavier and I'm hoping to get up to 55#s so my speed will be considerably slower.

He got the bend in the arm right but as far as anchoring behind your ear IMO is wrong and like you said you cant get a consistant anchor spot.

I prefer to anchor at the bend in my jaw cause I know thats not gonna move;):):D

So did I just drop a bunch of cash on something that doesn't fit me? If I bend my bow arm I have to pull my string arm farther back in order to get the string to meet my face. As a last resort I suppose I could remove the loop.

25 inches is the minimum for a justice. You can take off the loop, or try a different release. My release has about a inch of adjustment to it. It my be easier to try a different release or shorten yours up first.I like to anchor the valley between my thumb and index finger against the curve in my jaw bone below the ear. This seems to be easily repeatable and you can feel it even with gloves on in the winter.

Ausie-guy gave good advice. I shoot with a slight bend in my elbow.
Also agree anchoring behind ones ear is not good advice IMHO.
Do whatever it takes to make the bow fit you and your style of
shooting. If you can't make it fit, I would take it back.

Many also shoot with a straight arm, not locked, but straight. It can be more repeatable if done right, and may help you find a consistant anchor.

I've found with the Bowtech grips, there is really no need to hinge your arm anymore than just a "relaxed" arm tension. I shoot my Liberty at 30" without an arm gaurd and have never had the string get me.. Even with hunting clothes on.

At full draw the string should touch the tip of your nose. If you decide to ditch the d loop, you may want to look at a Gator jaw release aid by James Greene. It grips the string both above and below the arrow.

If your comfortable shooting with a straight arm and shoot well this way, then I'd stick to it .I also reccommend a shorter release without the loop on your string.maybe this would help.But as for the behind the ear ,I would think that this would cause all kind's of control problem's .
You can keep trying his method and try to make it work, or try the above and see if this make's a difference. I'd hate to see you have to get rid of your Justice because they're a great bow and I'm sure your really gonna love it .

Braved the cold and shot some arrows this morning. After messing around with the peep, the bend in my arm, and where I am anchoring I think that I have gotten closer to making things comfortable. I still have some more work to do on exactly where I am going to put my draw hand, but at least I didn't feel like the bow was way too long anymore. As I stated in my other thread going, I was disappointed in the noise that my rest seems to be making. Very loud metallic sound. Once I get the rest figured out I think I can get serious and start the process of tuning. Curious to see what kind of kinetic energy I'm going to get out of this thing!
