Switchback speeds

I went and shot a switchback at my local dealer and I have to say I was impressed at how smooth and quiet it was. I was wondering what kind of speeds are you guys getting out of yours? Bow poundage, draw length arrow weight? How do you think they stack up in the accuracy department?

I really don't think you will have to worry about the accuracy of the bow. I am sure it is a fine shooter as mosst of the mathews have been the past few years. There for a while 5 years ago or so he had a few bows with a pretty low brace height so he could gett he speeds the consumers were demanding. Looking at the specs it should be a fine shooter[8D]

Sorry I can't help out with the speeds I do not own one.

I saw a 70#er at 29" shoot a 400 gr arrow 280.

i SHOOT A SWITCHBACK AT 27.5 INCHES 70 POUNDS WITH A 410 GRAIN GOLD TIP AND IM GETTING 272FPS. WICH IS ABOUT 68 POUNDS OF ENERGY. THAT IS WAY MORE THAN YOU NEED TO TAKE ANY THING IN THE U.S. AND TO BE HONEST I WOULD SHOOT THIS BOW IF IT ONLY SHOT 20FPS. IT IS THE MOST SHOOTER FRIENDLY BOW I HAVE EVER SHOT.

EVERY HUNTER KNOWS WHAT THEY NEED TO DO THEY JUST DONT DO IT

My buddy got his Switchback today and shot it thru the chronograph......28inch draw, bow set at 60lb. He has string leechs a peepsite and a string-loop!

315gr. arrow......277fps
550gr. arrow......245fps

stealthman, are you sure that was a 550 grain arrow? Doesn't seem possible. Maybe 450?

I saw him shoot thru the chrono, and the 315gr arrow was one of my 3-D arrows and I know what they weigh!
I just took his word that his huntin arrow weighed 550gr. He went to Africa a couple years ago and this was one of his huntin arrows!
I will check it and get back to you!;)

That would be the most efficient cam on earth if he only lost 32 fps by adding 235 grains of arrow weight. Just for comparison the solocam would have lost 78 fps with the same gain in arrow weight.

Every Switchback I have seen so far is drawing longer than stated but 1/2 to 3/4 inch.

The 29" I drew back felt a lot longer than my 29" Pat. And that's with shooting the SB off the string and the Pat off a loop.

Shooting a 29", 67 lbs switchback with a 415 grain arrow at 292 fps.

RE: Switchback speeds

We finally got to check the arrow weight and it was 525gr. not 550gr.
The bow is set at 62lbs and is shooting the 525gr. arrow thru the chronogragh at 245fps!
Thats with a 80% let off and 28inch draw!
Pretty good speed for that heavy of an arrow at that draw length and weight!!!

RE: Switchback speeds

I dont know how accurate the chrono we are using is......I do know its telling me my 3-D bow is shooting 285fps and Iv shot it thru several other chronographs that are giving me the same speed!
