Eliminator Buttons
 

What is the function of eliminator buttons and how do you put them on your string? Are they split some how in order to install them, or does the string itself have to be removed?
I see them in magazines a great deal, but at least the ones I've seen don't really explain what their used for. Any Information would appreciated.

These are the little rubber buttons right?

If so, the purpose is to sit between the release and nock and keep the nock from being pinched off the arrow by the release.

There are two kinds, solid ones which you need to remove one end of the string and thread them on, and ones with a slit in them that you can put onto the string, then put a metal band around and crimp that shut.

They also can be used as speed buttons and vibration dampeners in the string.

After the nock point has been established, can these be pushed up tightly together to form a coushion for finger shooters?

I supposed you could do that, but in my 12 years of shooting fingers, I've never seen anyone shoot them. When I shot spots, all the people I shot with, used one nock over the arrow and a very few used one over and under. I don't think the buttons would add anything[&:]. Don

I use an eliminator buttom for a kisser button, small and it makes me "search" for it a bit to get the right feel at anchor for consistency. I like the new ones that come on the new BowTech bows which are about 1/2 the thickness of the Neet?? brand I believe they are called.
