Helical twist

Sorry to bombard with questions today but going new bow looking tomorrow so all info is appreciated.

Helical twist on fletching.. I have never shot an arrow with helical twist, what is recommended twist for accuracy?

Shooting right handed in a 60-70 lb bow draw length around 29"

For fixed blade Broad heads I prefer a 6 degree right helical 5" vanes or 4" feathers.

If you use a fall away you can use as much helical twist as you can get away with. It won't hurt a thing & will only help with broadhead accuracy!

I generally use three 4" Duravanes with as much helical as I can get. I use a right wing clamp but it dosn't matter if it is right or left. I have also been experimenting with 4 flatch again & have found that a four 3" Duravane 3-D's with a helical twist makes a really accurate setup as well when using a fallaway rest.

I shoot 4" feathers on a right helical twist. The only way my beloved muzzy will fly true. As stated earlier, if you shoot a prong style rest, clearance will be an issue. I don't know the degree of helical, whatever a Grayling fletcher is, I think 6 degree.

I adjust the jig to use as much helical as the shaft will allow me to use with still having 100% contact between the shaft and fletching. Different diameter shafts will take more or less helical. Basically the skinnier the shaft the less helical they will take.

2 inch blazer vanes on a right helical will control your broadheads as well as 4 inch feathers on a right helical. don't believe me, ask 5shot.
