Bear takedown poundage?
I bought a Bear takedown recurve today at a garage sale for $5 in great shape except that it doesn't have a sticker. I would appreciate some help with when they were made, especially the poundage, etc.. The riser is white, 17 1/2" long, is threaded for a stabilizer, has a metal Bear emblem opposite the arrow rest, and a vertical slit that I assume is to attach sight pins to. The limbs are blue, fiberglass, 23" long and detachable. It has a 56" string on it. Any help is appreciated.

RE: Bear takedown poundage?
Sounds like you've got a Bear 76'er. They came with red, white or blue risers and red, white or blue limbs. What you got just depended on what color limbs got dropped in the box with which colored riser. I've got one that's a blue riser with white limbs. Come to think of it, I gave $5 for this'n too. Draw weights ranged from 20-50 pounds, so you'll need to take it to a shop or find someone with a bow scale to find out what poundage yours is.

No thanks p-maannn but when you think of it $10 is a pretty generous offer since it's double my money.
Thanks Arthur P for that information. That's a wide range of possible poundages there so I will take it to a shop and have them check it. I'll probably never use it but then you never know. It was cheap enough to keep. |
