BROADHEAD ALIGNMENT

I have about 40 115gr.Muzzy four blade broadheads. They were given to me and tonight I was spin testing them and of the 40 I only found 7 that were perfectly straight. Two of these was out of a brand new pack never opened and the other four in the pack were not straight. The tip will waver some when spin testing these, some waver a little and some alot. How many of you spin test and if you do do you find that the tip on new heads will waver?Am I just being to picky?

JPS,

I assume that the broadheads in question are the screw-on style of head. Remember that if the insert or halfout that the broadhead screwed into is not square to the centerline of the arrowshaft the tip will not runout true. This is pretty common problem to see on a lot of arrow setups. You will have to either bend the broadhead screw shaft to true it up some, or replace the insert for a better one. Muzzy's broadhead machining is some of the best in the industry for being true. It takes a bit of tinkering to get the arrow to spin test true, but its well worth the effort.

Aim Hard!

the ones I just bought were all pretty good I did have to swicth a couple of them around to get better spins. I just switched tips on the ones that were not true and they all came around.

Make sure all your incerts are straight before you go anywhere. More often than not that is the problem, as I have had nothing but great results with muzzy quality. If the heads are used, they may be bent, but I don't think that's the problem.
