If your arrows are a little over spined...
example... shooting Beman ICS 340's when the chart says to use 400's, would changing the tip weight help out any?

I realize testing it out is the best way to find out for sure, but in general, if I were to switch to a lighter grain head, would that move me in the right direction, or backwards? Currently I'm using 125 grain heads, and was curious if 100 grains would be more sufficient. I'm grouping better than ever right now, but thought I'd ask.

I believe a lighter tip will stiffen the spine, where a heavier one will weaken the spine, but if you're grouping good, I'd go with that...

Adding weight to the head makes the arrow behave as though it has less spine, and removing weight stiffens it.

Reducing your weight to 100 might get you closser in spine, and speed up your arrow, which would be nice. It will have an impact on FOC, but what impact FOC has on anything is hard to say. Most of the special target nibb points are under 100 grain, so I have think you would be well on side with 100, though I am just going by your numbers I don't know those arrows specificaly. I think were release shooters are concerned there is a very wide range of possible spines as long as they aren't too soft.

ABM, ive got some 140s if you want to give them a try. when are ya coming back to the world? and if you want i can mail them up north. going up on wt. will soften your spine. and give you a few more points on foc.

Ron, I head home on Thursday for one week. I really don't want to change field tip weight because I have a dozen Muzzy 125 grain broadheads. No sense making nearly $60 worth of heads useless in my gear box.
I was planning on leaving the bow up north this time, mainly because we are buying and installing our kitchen when I come home. If we buy it before the 10th, we get 20% off, plus no payments and no interest till January of 2003!

well you MUST be talking about that home dePOT place...lol... thats why i dident change to the 125s like we talked about a few weeks ago all my broad heads are 145gr. any way stop it ill put a couple in my truck this way you can shoot them and decide for yourslef if its a problem that needs addressed.
