? about string change on xtec.
I am gooing to put a set of winners choice cables and a new string on my xtec. My question is that the xtec comes with what hoyt calls the floating yoke system and winners choice recommends using the twist yoke system. Has anyone else done this, and what is your opinion. Thanks, Bhunter32.

Hi, winners choice tells you to go with the solid twist yoke because thats all they offer, pro strings has the solid yoke and the floating yoke, and they gave me a really nice price for strings and cables for my hoyt, i got a price on a solid color strings and cables and they told me 62 bucks.

I just replaced my strings and cables with Gas bowstrings. They offer both styles you mentioned. I was in the same situation you are in and Eric Griggs the owner of Gas bowstrings and pro shooter for pse answered all my questions. Winners choice makes great strings but I would go to www.gasbowstrings.com and get Erics phone number and call and talk to him. You won't be disappointed, he shipped them to me in less than a week.

Actually, winners choice told me they can make the floating yoke style as well but it costs a little more. They still say they felt the twist style yoke system was better and more stable. I was just wondering if anyone else had the same experience with them? Thanks for the replies. Bhunter32.

RE: ? about string change on xtec.
you need to use the floating yoke because it puts equal pressure on both sides of the limb and autimaticlly puts the cable to the exact center of the yoke orientation for the distance the cable is off centered from the cable guard slide.
I recomend the floating yoke for any bow whether or not it is equipped with it or not, it is simply a better system than a split harness system. |
