Bowtech trouble
 

My brother has a 2003 VFT Extreme that is cutting cables. It is cutting them where the draw length mod and the cam meet we tried a new module but it is still doing it. is there any thing else to try or should we get a new cam? Thanx Don

Bo,
Check your brother's post setting for the module he is using to make sure it is in the right position, if he has it too far to the "L" side it will over rotate the cam and can damage the cable.

Take it to your BowTech dealer and have him check for cam lean,,, doubt that's the reason but it should be checked along with getting the proper draw stop setting according to the proper module like Matt stated. If he's over rotating the cam to get the correct draw length with a smaller module,,, he's giving up quite a bit of performance. Good luck;)

Please read my diclaimer when I ask this.......but.......

Is he using a factory cable slide or an after market one? I've read where getting a new one that pulls the cables too far over could cause both cam lean and excess cable wear.

thanx for the sugestions guys. but it is were the mod and the cam meet . I dont think its over rotating. its were it extends from the cam

My Tech29 has the same cam. This happened to me once when I change to a shorter module. What Matt said is true. Check the draw stopper. Also, have him draw the bow and you check where the problem occurs, then adjusting the stopper will be much easier.
