Bowtech guru's: Diff bewteen '03 and '04 duallys

I am wanting to pick up a speed bow to play around with, and I think the pat dually is the way to go. Is there a significant difference in the cams/bows from 2003 to 2004? I am particularly interested in the draw characteristics, smoothness. I know something has to be sacrificed to get all that speed, but I still like a smooth shooter. Is that possible with a dually?
Thanks,
JMAC

There's a few differences between the 2003's and 2004's.

The cams have a little smoother draw in 2004 than they did in 2003.

The 2004's have roller bearings in the cams versus bronze bushings in the 2003's.

The 2004's have pivoting limb pockets and the 2003's didn't.

Both model years do have a fairly short valley but they hold very well when shot with proper back tension.

Regards, Pat

I have an '03 and an '04 Patriot Dually and there is quite a difference in the bows by design. They both shoot very well with the advantage going to the '03 in my opinion. The '03 has less reflex in the riser and more brace height. I like the shelf extension on the '04 and the bearings in the '04 cams. Both of my bows shot the same speed at 29/70 pounds with the same 457 grain arrow through my chrono- 286 fps. The cams are not interchangable between the two bows. I like the new VibraBlocks and string silencers on the '04 bows but I do have LimbSavers on my '03 and it's more quiet at the shot. Both bows are great choices for hunting and 3D. The valley on the '03 is longer and easier for me to shoot ;).

But Pat.. how about the differences between the '04 and '05 duallys?

Will the '05 cams fit the '04s?

I am currently shooting a 03 Patriot Dually and the valley seems nonexiestant to me. It seems like the cams break over into a wall. This is normal for a spped bow trying to get as long of a powerstroke as possible. my question is there a way to adjust the valley?

Well can't blame me for trying.

AKASharkey... The valley will feel different if the cams are out of time/synch... On my '03 Pat dually.. I had a valley that was prolly about 1/2" long (though I never measured it).. Which granted is shorter than alot of 1 cams... when I put the new strings on.. and things weren't timed perfectly.. it would feel like the valley was almost non existant.
