How to determine...

Just wondering how you would determine the straightness of a carbon arrow shaft? Would you use a micrometer or what? I would think that would be the way to do it but am not sure. Take several measurements off the arrow? Thanks for the help

An arrow straightner with straightness gauge, is the only way I know of.

You could support the arrow on a roller and set up a micrometer at the end to check runout as you spin it. I think most companies report straightness over 28". You would divide the number by 2. An arrow that checked .006" would have a straightness of .003". That's if they're claiming straightness off the centerline of the arrow and not runout.

Phil.
