Alpine Stealth Force review
Ok, I am not an expert or anything, but this is what I found today. I just got home from shooting this thing.
This bow was the "shorty version" at 36" ATA. It was set up at 65lbs and shooting gold tip 5575's at 28" with a 100gr point. It has a brace height of 6 1/2". It has an average weight of about 3.5lbs. One of the biggest things I noticed about the bow was how quiet it was. No limb savers or string silencers. It was plain quiet except for string noise. It paper tuned very easily and grouped well at 20 yards. Fit and finish on these bows are excellent. It was probably the nicest drawing bow I have ever seen. It uses bearings on both, the cam and the idler wheel, which I think is a very good idea. I have only shot it one day, but I will have to say this is an impressive shooting bow. Everything about these bows is nice. One thing I didnt like though, it just didnt seem to balance very well. Maybe its me not being used to it. All and all, I think I will keep this bow for a while and shoot the crap out of it. If you havent tried on of Alpines bows, I would suggest shooting one. You may be suprised, I was. |

good report! If I ever locate one I will definetly try one out. Although I have never seen one in any of our local bow shops.

And heck......You can't beat the price!!!<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>
I almsot bought myself a "Teton Lite" a few years back, but never did.......can't remember why as it seemed like a very nice bow. Never have shot an Alpine, and I don't know anyone who owns one......I'd like to try some oneday if I could get my hands on one. |

I guess the youth bow market is growing, but I know some serious 3Ding kids who have Alpine bows. They seem to make serious bows for the little'uns.

Muzz,
Congrats on winning the bow! Alpine bows are notoriously quiet.. Keep us in the loop on how it does! I know recently Norb did a report in Bowhunting World on that model..you should check it out! JeffB :) |
RE: Alpine Stealth Force review
I have never really tinkered with any of the Alpine models as I don't think there are any current dealers in my area. One of the local shops does have some of the older model bows in stock, but from what I hear they don't compare to the newer ones.
Thanks for the report...:) |
