Broad head clearance problem and adhesive question
 

I finally got around to shooting broadheads tonight after a few weeks of dealing with stuff like a broken sight and switching arrows.

I go to draw the first arrow, i hear a tink and it falls on the ground, "hmm what the heck happened there?" so i re-nock it and draw again with the same results. Seems the broadhead blade is catching on the riser or the arrow holder thingy on the shelf.
I had my wife watch me draw and it is hitting the plastic channel the shop glued to the shelf to hold the arrow (using a Trophy Ridge Drop Zone).

The tech glued it on right at the front of the riser and with the overdraw, the location of the rest and the angle of incline as the arrow s raised it just barely catches the plastic guide. I am going to take the guide off and make 100% sure it isnt going to catch the riser then i will reattach the guide further back on the shelf.

It looks like they used a very thin neoprene pad with adhesive on both sides. Would i just be able to go to Home Depot and find something similar that would do the job or would i need to drive 30 miles each way to get some special tape or glue at the shop?

Of course if the blades are catching the riser too it looks like i will be buying another set of arrows probably 1/2" to 1" longer :(

You really don't NEED the security of a holder like that for the Drop Zone if that's what it's clipping do you?.......The Drop Zone has a pretty good containment reach correct?

What I do on my drop aways, is simply use Moleskin........roll up (2) 1/2" pieces sticky side out and place them on the riser parallel to the direction of the arrow about 1/2" apart, then cover those with a piece for the whole front half of the arrow shelf.....make sure to fit the moleskin down in between the 2 stuck on pieces.
This makes a nice low profile arrow guide and no chance of hitting it anywhere.

the drop zone doesnt really seem to hold the arrow very well side to side.

the piece on the riser is just a simple plastic channel with some moleskin on it. When i first got the drop zone it came with a foam piece, when i had it switched to the Bowtech they put the plastic channel on. It is actually from Trophy Taker, but works better than the foam TR piece.

I am getting worried about what is going to happen next, i get everything shooting great then something else happens.
