another arrow size question
I've read of people saying not to go below 5 gr. per # of pull. Can someone tell me why I come up with an arrow that weighs around 6.6 gr per # using easton's shaft selector (aluminium shaft)? I'm shooting a single cam, 65-70#'s, 100 gr. head @ 27.5". It tells me a 2413 is my size but I would like to get down between 5.5 & 6 gr.
Thanks |
RE: another arrow size question
Eastons arrow selector is telling you that the 2413 is the arrow that is the least likely to leave your string shaped like this ~~~>!;)

RE: another arrow size question
are you looking for more speed? If so try carbonexpress or gold tips also you could shorten your arrows by a 1/2 in if you got room to move your rest back toward the string a little this will lighten it up a bit.

RE: another arrow size question
I was looking for a little more speed, may be 20 or ft/sec. But I suppose it isn't critical. I'm not sure that I want to get into carbon arrows so I guess I'll just live with it right now. as BOWFANATIC said, it's probably for the best any ways. I can't go any shorter on length withoug shortening my draw length & I don't think I like over-draws either.
Thank you for your time. |
RE: another arrow size question
My set up - Hoyt X-TEC 57lb. gold tip 5575 100gr. tips at 27.5 in'' arrow. My arrow could be 2.5'' to 3'' shorter. Would the shorter arrow help on speed?
