Bow setup- good or bad
 

Hello all, im new here and to bow hunting so i need some advise.
I shoot a Jennings buckmaster with a single crosshiar sight that i can slide to adjust the yardage, it has a quicktune 800 rest, limbsavers, catwiskers and a draw weight of 70#. I was wondering if there would be a better rest i could use i was thinking of a wisker bisket? i shoot aluminum arrows.also what is the best release aid, on the string its self or one of the strings that go around the bow string?

Are you having specific problems or issues with this rest? If you aren't and are getting satisfactory results, a new rest really won't improve much of anything as far as performance. That said, the WB is a very nice rest for a hunting bow, because it can also provide great flight when properly selected and set up plus the added advantage of securely holding your arrow.

I assume you mean a tied on D loop versus the release with the string that goes around the bow string. I think this one boils down to personal preference. I shoot directly off the string as I choose to maximize my power stroke. With a good quality braided serving material, I'm having no problems at all. I easily shoot as good as I did with a loop, so as a bowhunter to me a loop is no benefit whatsoever, it actually degraded system performance, albeit very slightly so. If you are currently shooting off the string and aren't having issues, don't worry that you're missing something. However if you are having problems, a loop is certainly easy enough to try and compatible with 90% of the releases out there.
