What color light for sight pins?

Is there a particular color of light (meaning white light filtered with colored lenses) that is more apt to NOT spook deer, when illuminating your bow sight pins?

Would red be better, or blue? How about green?

When I was in the military, we always used red in the field. Supposedly, red cannot be seen from far away, I'm wondering what is less perceptive to deer....

Great question. I'm not expert but a deers eyes are diffrent then ours. They see quite well in low light condtions and because of this I think the'd be more likely to see a covert light than a human eye would. ****this is just an opinion. I have no real knowledge of how deer see lights at night*****

I use to use a red ld. I never got spoted by any deer. I quite using a light becaues I caught my self making shots right before dark and haveing the time of my life finding the deer in the dark. In Texas, deer season starts in Oct. and it stays rather hot hear in Oct. so I dont like to leave a deer over night. But to answer your question, I never had any problem with the red or green.

I really don't have any idea, but I have seen flashlights and headlamps at cabelas that are green and they advertise that deer can't see them.

I've been doing a little research on this. It appears that deer can't see red very well. They can see blue and green though. Now I've got to get my PSE pin light filtered from blue to red.
