no good at 20
 

Hey guys need some help. Im trying to sight in my new bow for hunting season and all shots at 20 yards or more are all over the place. Shooting 15 yards or less and my groups are at about 1 in. At 20 yards they are closer to 6in. I shot paper and it looked fine(guy at the shop said that it looks good too.)
So what do you guys think?

Did you shoot paper at diffrent distances? 5 yards should not make a 5" diffrence in groups unless something is wrong with the tune IMO.

Also how many pounds are you pulling, how long are your arrows and what make and size shafts are you shooting?

I'm thinking you don't have a solid anchor point .Do you have a peep and a kisser button if not you might want to put them on .

Sorry about the delay in responding to your questions. (Had to go to work). I am using pse firestorm lite outfitter 60# maxed 29" draw. Arrows are 4560 Terminator hunters cut to 29". I am using a peep and have been thinking about adding a kiss to just to be sure. Also using a release if that helps any. I guess it might be me but how can i be doing something different at 20 that im not doing at 15 or less. After I shoot at 20 I go back to 15 and im fine again.

Depending the weight of your points or broadheads, you may be under spined. Try lighter field points, or turn the bow down. Also, have someone else shoot your bow to see how it groups for them.

I was just thinking that when i shot it with the arows that came with it it did the same thing. but im still using 100gr field tips. I will try some lighter ones and see what happens

Sounds like a definate tuning or form problem. Sounds to me that a good proshop is what you need. Problem is a good one is hard to find. A bad one can take you down a long bad road and have less than you started with.

I would start with paper tun at various distances, expecially 5, 10, and 15 yards. That usuaally tells the tale. The rest is fine tuning. Also don't shoot just one arrow while paper tuning. See bullet holes 3 times out of 3. If not, might have a clearance problem.
