Default Center Serving ??????

Today my center serving started to unravel abot two and a half inches below the nock point. Right now I tried to tie it off tight and add a touch of super glue. I hope it holds because I rally don't want to reserve or change the string. I have it shooting so well.

But to the question. As I was tying it off I started to wonder, do I really need a center seving if I shoot a d-loop. If so why is it needed?

Any help on this is kindly thanked in advance

Yes you do need a center serving , reason so the string will not have direct contact with a release or a loop. have it reserved won't hurt anything .

The D-loop will not stay fast on a waxed string: & one needs a serving to turn the D-loop up and down the string for tuning.
