Anyone ever shoot a deer with shockwaves? i was shooting them today just messing around and they were shooting awsome, and very accurate and was wondering how they did "in the field".

Shockwave work great. They are very sharp and fly very well. I took a big doe with one a couple of yrs ago she ran about 40yrds. and pilled up LOL the trail she left behind was not hard to follow;)

I have not tried the Shockwaves but I have used the Spitfires and Scorpions. They are basically the same design. Both hit the same mark as my fieldpoints. I took a nice 8 pointer at 23 yards with a Scorpion last year. He ran about 20 yards and dropped. There is a lot of controversy about mechanicals but I think for deer they are great. :D

I killed about 5 or 6 deer with shockwaves, no complaints. However, I noticed a little more penetration after switching to the Scorpion last year, which is the same head, but with a cut on contact tip. Both are great heads, IMO.

I have used them ever since they came out and I wouldnt change I have taken 15 deer with them and never lost one yet. I have taken them out to 38 yards with no problems. In fact last year alone I took 5 with the same head with just resharpening. Here is a picture from one of them.

I would stay away from any mechanical if only pulling 50 pounds!
