anybody shoot fatboys?
i have heard alot of good things about these, and have tried similar arrows to these. i didn't really want to shoot a different arrow for 3d and hunting, but i might consider it for next season, if i get good respones. is there a similar large diameter arrow that is better?
i shoot 27" arrows off a MZE (there is room to go about 3" shorter) 29" draw, 70 lbs |
RE: anybody shoot fatboys?
I have some fatboy 400's that I use for 3d IMO they are a great target arrow but maybe a little on the fragile side for hunting.

RE: anybody shoot fatboys?
I bought a dozen for 3-D this summer. 5 of the 12 spun true.
They are now resting in the arrow grave yard (arrow bucket) in my basement, banished never to be used again. [:'(] |
RE: anybody shoot fatboys?
My results were the opposite of buckeyes. The dozen I got for 3D flew true and spun great. I would not hunt with them though, as was said above they are on the fragile side.

The fat boy's are just what all others have said, they are target arrows not hunting arrows.

RE: anybody shoot fatboys?
I tried the 400 "FatBoys" for 3-D and ended up going to the 500s as the 400s were spined to stiff for my setup! The only way the 400s would paper tune is if I cranked my bow up to 70lbs.
The 27inch 500s shoot great at 63lbs and weigh 315 grains with an 80 grain glue in point. Most of the guys I know that are shooting the "FatBoys" are now shooting the 500s. As stated above......these are target arrows and NOT hunting arrows!!!!! |
