Ok guys,Can anyone help me with this?

I'm using a 3 pin fiber optic sight on my PSE Bruin,It can be adjusted with the whole sight thing,Or just the pins,I've never tried sighting in one of these things before,(If you read my other post you know this is my first year hunting with a bow)

So I'm very out of my field here,What is the best way to set in these sights,And which sight is used for the longest and shortest rang?

I was trying to set in the bottom sight the lowest one for the shortest rang. But someone on here posted a reply to someone else saying to use the top sight for shortest rang,

I am at a loss when it comes to this,Can someone help me out?[:-]

Until you get comfortable, set your pins for very basic yardages........

10-20-30 yards. You are probably not ready to shoot at anything live at any real distance so keep the 30 yard stuff just for practice.

The top pin will be your closest yardage.....10 yards.
Sight in your top pin by positioning it where you like in the sight first, then use the "gang" adjustments to zero it in. Once the 10 yard pin is set, lock down the gang adjustments because you will be (hopefully;))moving only the pin for the 20-30 yard settings.

When you shoot an arrow, you will always adjust your pins in the direction that you missed the bullseye. If you shot high and left you will move your sight up and left. "Follow your arrow".

It will help to know that the rest of your set-up is adjusted correctly, and a string peep sight will be a big help. You might want to have a pro shop check the bow over and make sure everything else is tuned properly so that you can get the most from your sights.

the top pin is for the shortest ranges and the bottom pin is for the longest range. shoot a group of arrows with your top pin. where ever your arrows hit follow them with your pin. so if you shoot a group of arrows and they all shoot low of where you had your pin move the pin down a little. after you get the vertical set, then go to the horizontal. if your arrows shoot left of where you put your pin, then move the pin a little to the left until your arrows are shooting the same as where your pin is.

remember to practice practice practice before the season starts good luck!

Thanks guys,

This helps me a lot,I was going at it all wrong,And I didn't set up anything on my bow,It was all done by a pro shop,They wouldn't let me leave until they had the peep just right,And they made sure the sights were level and that the rest and nocks( or whatever they're called,) were dead on with the rest so my arrow was flat on level.

So thanks for the tips,I will start to work on them tomorrow,It's like 10:30pm here so I will be work on them first thing tomorrow,I'll let every one know if I get them set right. Thanks again.:D
