Sims slide on Liberty
 

I bought a Sims virgin teflon cable slide for my Bowtech Liberty yesterday and I cant get the slide onto the cable rod with the cables inside it like its supposed to be. Any idea how I can make it work? Thanks,

Back the limbs of 2 1/2 turns evenly and muscle up...........either that or get it into a bow press and save your fingers a bit.
It can be done.......I did it with my Liberty, however I took it back off after about 5 minutes because it was pulling the string/cable too far toard the slide creating a hard angle off the idler wheel.
I just put the stock slide back on . I think there is a different aftermarket that will work a bit better on the Liberty? Hicks? or Bomar.....can't remember which.

I'm with Matt on this one. Did you keep your receipt? The Sims slide definately pulls the cables over too far. The hicks slide works perfect on the Liberty. It pulls the cables farther over than the stock slide for better fletching clearance but not as much as the Sims. It's a little cheaper too.

Another vote for the Hicks slide. JeffB was kind enough to send me one a while back & it works great.

I am not trying to hijack this thread, so bear with me. I have a Sims cable slide on my Liberty and I haven't noticed any ill effects. I do hence the word noticed. What should I look for to see what effects that the Sims will have on performance? I do know that my idler wheel is at a little bit of an angle, but the bow seems to shoot fine. Thanks for the help...

Well I called Bowtech and found the answer, so here it is. The Sims cable slide will pull the cables over a little further causing the idle wheel to slightly cant. If you tune your bow with this cant it will tune and if you want to fix the cant you will have to put twist in the cable at the split (more than likely on the right side). If you choose to do this you will have to retune the bow for center shot. Now back to the cables being pulled too for over. The only thing that this will do is that it will cause the cables to have more pressure in contact with the cable slide. This contact will make wear on the cables faster than a slide that doesn't pull as hard on the cables. Shouldn't effect accuracy, but I just ordered a Hicks today, and will try that out. My only concern is that I am shooting Blazer vanes that have a higher profile. I hope they don't hit. Good luck and shoot straight.
