RE: FEATHERS!!
I have used "TrueFlight" feathers for 40 years because they have always been excellent in quality and quality control. However, due to a certain color combo being available recently, I purchased 100 5" Para Gateways. The quality seems to be quite good. I will know more when I mount and shoot them.

RE: FEATHERS!!
After you shoot your feathers thru the biscuit enough you will notice the edges getting fuzzy. When you edges get really fuzzey they will make more noise as opposed to being not fuzzy. That's the biggest reason I got rid of my biscuit and went with a MZE drop away. Got tried of refletching because of biscuit wear.
If you let your wet feathers dry out they will recover and you can shoot them some more. I have some that were soaked in blood from past thru on animal. I Just left them sit for about a week and they recovered. Then I used it some more. |
RE: FEATHERS!!
Feathers are all I would use through whisker biscuit. You shoot vains through a WB a few times and the vains get wrinkled. Yes if you shoot them enough the feathers get fuzzy on the tips, but they still fly fine.

RE: FEATHERS!!
Feathers rock! I started using them about 10 years ago and have never looked back. I've never had any problems hunting with them in the rain, but I do use a CatQuiver which keeps the feathers protected up in the hood.

RE: FEATHERS!!
I use a product called "NO SNOW" to waterproof my feathers and I passed through a buck last year and the feathers look brand new. I also have a feather that I shot my antelope with and I did NOT treat it, WHAT a difference, the antelope arrow is trashed. I treated those arrows a year ago and I can go right now and run them under water , AFTER shoooting a 15 week winter 3-d season and they still bead up like I just did them yesterday. If I get a chance I will post a pic of the two arrows so you can see for yourself. This stuff is incredible This will be my second Hunting season using this stuff. It is really good stuff. JM2C.:)

RE: FEATHERS!!
Right on MIKE. I also have a cat quiver, They are really nice to protect those feathers, but you always have to have one nocked in the stand and that is where that "NO SNOW" kicks butt!!. I love my CATQUIVER, simple one stop deal. It eliminates the quiver on the bow but it is also a fanny/back pack.

RE: FEATHERS!!
i am hunting this fall with the biscuit and i have shot recently with the vanes and feathers. i will be using feathers . they are flying like darts and after about 200 shots they still look fine so far. one shot should kill a deer. the vanes i used are aae vanes and imo are junk for biscuit shooters. warped after about 30 shots. use the feathers.
