String stretch

I always hear about string stretch. I believe this is when the string is stretched and loses its twist and the pro shop needs to re-twist the string. How do you know when your bow string is stretched?

Your draw lenght will be longer, the cam / cams will be out of time.

The axle to axle distance will get longer as the string stretches.

depending on how much the string stretches you may not notice at all. A well made string with modern materials will move very little.

The primary thing you will notice on string stretch (as opposed to cables stretch) on a dual cam is the nock point will go up a bit.

Peep rotation might also change a bit, if you had any.

To fix you just twist the string up a twist or two.
