RE: Pro 38 or Patriot for 3-d

That's a tough one to say......Nobody really knows how the "Patriot" will be as a serious 3D bow. Right now we can only speculate, but it should be pretty darn good.
The Pro38 is already proven as a very good 3D bow and I know quite a few guys (myself included) who have either shot it, or are planning to this season for 3D.

The Patriot in spite of it's relatively short ATA length has a very "Long Bow Feel"......it seems every bit as stable in my hand as my Pro38, and is a smoother shooter. But then again, I just don't know and won't until I have them both side by side this year.
I have a Patriot coming as my next hunting bow, but it will see some 3D action(like I said in another post it's just too much fun to shoot:)).

I think both will give you pretty similar speeds......it's going to come down to feel. And by the way.....I spent the last year shooting a Mighty Mite, and the Patriot feels and shoots NOTHING like a Mighty Mite which is pretty darn good in it's own right as a hunting bow.

I know it's a tough decision......it'll be personal preference I think because they are both going to shoot better than you or I are ever going to be able to.

One other thing to consider is either a 50-60# BKII w/ 6.5" BH or last years "Pro38" dual cam w/ 6.8" BH.
DON'T let the "DUAL CAM" scare you.....they are quiet, stable very fast and shoot great, and would give you 15-20fps faster arrow speeds to compliment your 27" draw length.
I shoot the 2001 Pro38DC and it's the best shooting bow I've owned to date.
Just another thought to complicate matters.<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

RE: Pro 38 or Patriot for 3-d

I would think it safe to say that you'd be in the 275-280 ball park. I have to agree with Matt, the BKII wtih 6.5&quot; brace is a serious one to consider. If you don't mind the weight, the G3.2 has a super smooth draw cycle and is also on the pro series riser.

RE: Pro 38 or Patriot for 3-d

I would go for the Pro38 because of the longer ATA for 3-d.
