Bear Whitetail Hunter Bow.
 

I got a Bear Whitetail Hunter bow. I have a flipper rest and just simple 3-pin True-glo (i dont know if thats the right name of it or not) sights, i use a release by the way. But anyway, when I shoot at a target from about 10 yards, I have to aim about a 1-1.5feet under the targat to hit anything. The pin is moved all the way to the top, the sights are all the way to the top. How can I fix this, is it because of the flipper rest somehow, or are my arrows not the right kind, or what? Oh by the way, just a quick yes or no answer, will an old army camo coat work for Whitetail hunting?

When you're sighting in a bow sight, you move the pin to where the arrow is hitting. If the arrow hits low and left, you move the pin down and left. If it's hitting high and right, you move the pin up and right. In your case, you need to move the sight down.

Your flipper rest will work just fine for release shooting. It's definitely not the first pick for the vast majority of release shooters but they work. I'd suggest looking at the whisker bisquit rest if you want something different.

As for your arrows... You'd need to give us some information before anyone could say whether or not you're in the right ballpark with them. What arrows? What size? How long? What is your tip weight? About the bow.... Is it the old 6-wheel Whitetail or the dual cam Whitetail II? What draw length? What draw weight?

(Honestly, if it's the old 6-wheeler, I would not spend much money on a different rest. No slam against the bow because I'm sure it'll do the job. It's just so old that it'd be like putting hubcaps on a tractor.)

What do you think we did for camo before the designer labels got involved? Heck yes it'll work!:)

That flipper rest is not meant for release shooting.. I have a regular old whisker biscuit that I'll send to you if you send me your address. That should help out a little bit.

Ok I moved my sight down and to the left and right, all it did was shoot even high, so I moved it higher and it shot lower, but its up all the way and I still have to aim about 1.5 feet under my target.

Okay... Now I understand. Your arrows are hitting ABOVE where your sight pin is pointing.

Just making a wild guess, I'd say you're probably anchoring under your jaw and your sight simply doesn't have enough adjustment to accomodate that anchor. You will have to develop a different anchor higher up beside your face, like anchoring with the knuckle at the base of your index finger behind the jawbone and under the ear lobe.

Raising the anchor will let you adjust the sight down enough to put you on target.

If that's not the problem, then you need to get yourself to the archery shop and get some first hand help.

Sorry to bring up an old post, but man! This was my very first post here. I still have bow actually. Maybe I should get it out just for old times sake.
