Draw length & arrow speed question?
I shoot a 03 Firestorm lite, 29" draw and 70# pull. How much speed (Aprox) will I gain if I changed it from a 29" draw to a 30" draw?

RE: Draw length & arrow speed question?
I've always been told that as a general rule 1 inch of draw length should equal approx. 10 ft/sec. So if that is true you would gain around 10 ft/sec moving from 29" draw to 30". I'm sure there are other factors involved too with your exact setup. Someone can probably give a more accurate guess!

RE: Draw length & arrow speed question?
Yep, you'll gain about 10 fps. You'll also gain a bunch of headaches if the drawlength is right for you at 29". Some of the common maladies are string slapping the arm, not being able to hold steady on target, double-clutching at full draw, left-right misses------- just to name a few. There are a lot better ways to gain 10fps.

RE: Draw length & arrow speed question?
I've always shot a 30in draw and when I picked up my bow the dealer didn't have the module needed to lengthen the draw. I am able t o shoot the 29" draw but feel I'm robbing myself by not taking advantage of what my body and bow has to offer. If it wern't such a hassel to change it I would have long ago but just found it easier to shoot it as is.
Thanks for the info guys. I think it's time to call PSE. |
