Temporary nock
 

I dont have a brass nock but I need to shoot my bow for testing/ I dont want to put a loop on yet . What can I use or do to have a temporary nock on my string?

If you don't have a brass nock, you can tie piece of dental floss around the string, in alternating knots as a temporary nock, you can also use old bowstring material, or serving material, whatever you have on hand. Just tie it large enough to keep your arrow from riding up the string.
