Best Looking Bow
Yep..best LOOKING bow...not talking about performance or speed, or quality...which bows on the market do you think have the best eye appeal? Doesn't matter if you own one or not...
And yes, I know Arthur, that compared to a good stick, they are all ugly :D My personal fave is the Martin Cougar III with SE limb pockets.. ![]() |
RE: Best Looking Bow
Another pic...
![]() It's hard to see in the pics, but the machine work on the Cougar III riser is just beautiful. |
RE: Best Looking Bow
I also think the Primos STL has a very nice "classic" look

RE: Best Looking Bow
It probably isnt the best looking overall but I like the Reflex bows with the wolf prints and deer hooves milled into them. They are a nice touch
|
RE: Best Looking Bow
I know the most popular are the parallel limb models. Personally, I really like the recurve limbs like those found on some of the Merlin models. After those, I'd have to go with the Hoyt Tec riser models.

RE: Best Looking Bow
Well, Jeff, if it's gotta be a compound.... None of today's bows wrinkle my prune. Here's a coupla Martins from the past, a Warthog and Super Diablo. IMO, for a bow to be a bow, it's gotta have wood in it.[8D]
![]() I'd really like to have one of those ol' Warthogs, but updated with modern wheels like the ones Barnsdale uses on his bows. That would be a compound that I could love. While we're on the subject, my vote for the ugliest bow of all time is the Rigid. Check out that parallel limb technology![:'(] ![]() 1977 for those wondering how old the idea is.;) |
RE: Best Looking Bow
I agree with you Jeff B! the Martin is an awsome looking bow ,I'm sure if someone had been selling them in my area I would have had to give them some serious thought .The only thing I don't like about them is thier grip .But the P.S.E. STL doesn't do anything for me at all

RE: Best Looking Bow
holy crap, that Rigid is one ugly bow!!
|
RE: Best Looking Bow
holy crap, that Rigid is one ugly bow!! I guarantee ya, the picture simply doesn't do it justice. It's far uglier in person.Nubo, guess you don't know you can get optional grips from Martin. I don't like the standard rubber grips they put on their bows either, but I do like the optional wood grips. |
RE: Best Looking Bow
Personally I think any of the 2000 model Fred Bear models...Borsalino, Epic Extreme, Epic, etc... with the original Advantage camo and the bronze limb pockets and hardwood grips are probably the prettiest bows in my eyes.

RE: Best Looking Bow
Another merlin with a diferant risor , love those recurve limbs , and this years anodising and camo are awesome .

RE: Best Looking Bow
Authur P ! no I didn't know that you could get optional grip's ,I do like tha Martin bow's though ,as I said nobody in my area carries them and i have no idea where I would find one. But I still love my BowTech so I'm not ready to trade it in .

Oneida Black Eagle.[8D]
![]() Arthur, I used to hunt with a Martin Warthog Magnum. Beautiful bow, had some recoil though. |
RE: Best Looking Bow
That Merlin is one fine looking bow! Too bad they aren't made in the good old USA. The parallel limb design on the Bowtechs has really grown on me. I can't imagine shooting any other design!
|
RE: Best Looking Bow
How about the Merlin riser and parallel limbs? I love the Max Extreme, heck of a shooter too.

RE: Best Looking Bow
I'd have to say the Merlin HQ with recurve limbs is probably the most aesthetically pleasing compound I've ever seen. New camo looks nice, but their old camo was just as purdy if not moreso...
Todd, got a pic handy? |
RE: Best Looking Bow
The new Merlin camo matches up better to accessories, and totally disappears in any fall woodland setting. The old camo is nice, but the new camo definately gets the thumbs up from most people.;)
Now, the flat-out purtiest bow on the planet IMHO has got to be a Merlin Supernova---the detailing is simply stunning! Check all the bows out at www.merlin-bows.co.uk They shoot as good as they look too!:) ![]() |
RE: Best Looking Bow
which bows on the market do you think have the best eye appeal? Thats an easy question to answer, mine of course:) I like my bows like I like my women sleek, sexy and fast ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

RE: Best Looking Bow

Here's a pic of my Accu-Riser II Purple Marble with gold hardware. Not as pretty as my Super Nova but cool looking and built like a tank. ;) Sag. ![]() |

RE: Best Looking Bow
I like the look of the Oneidas, too, but I think the Firebrand Techs look even better:
![]() For more conventional bows, the parallel limbs really grew on me: ![]() |
RE: Best Looking Bow
Gray Leopard Bowman.
Special Type 2 heavy Accu-Riser II. Twice as strong built as my first bow above. Sag. ![]() |
RE: Best Looking Bow
I think the Nuge Bow is pretty cool, but I have the outback and I like the look of that as well.
