RE: Q about Jennings Bows
That riser/cam/limb combo went under the guise of many differnt names and camo patterns through the years as models in the Bear & Jennings lines...Cabelas and Papes had thier own special versions (different camo patterns), and Bear had umpteen different version with as many names...
I had one of the early Uniforces w/ the 65% letoff cam and the Recurve limbs. Very quiet, slow as molasses, and a pain to tune with fixed blade heads when running light arrows through it (bad nock travel). I suspect the string is still stretching on mine and I sold it 8 or 9 years ago ;). But it shot quietly and accurately with a more moderate arrow weight set-up and some fiddling. It was a "solid" bow..aimed well, and I love those old Jennings CM recurve limbs. The cam with some minor updates went on later to power the SpeedStar and other B/J bows until it was replaced by the "Supercam" on the original Buckmaster and later the PWC. I see the original cam it's still being used on some of the low end NAAG/Escalade bows as well as a Golden Eagle or two. |
